Who else can organise a flute event with a Funfair?! It has to be Flutewise!

On Saturday 1 July 2023 there will be an event on Victoria Park, Victoria Road, Portslade, Brighton. Brighton is a great place for a family day out or weekend away. This event is taking place when the park has it’s annual visit from Cole’s Fun Fair. There will be:

A Fun Fair - with everything you expect at a fun fair; rides, games stalls, food etc.
A Teddy Bear’s Picnic - with a competition for the best homemade crown (soft toy and owner)
A Flutewise Workshop starting at 10.30 am followed by performance at the picnic/funfair
An art display

A magic show
Various other attractions

Everyone attending the workshop will receive a copy of our new book, Flutewise: Let’s Play Together, a goody bag containing lots of interesting things and free 12 months membership to Flutewise

There will be a workshop for flute players of all standards and ages starting at 10.30 am and led by Lorna Brown and Liz Goodwin. There will be musical activities that are great fun and we’ll play some of the pieces from our new book, Flutewise Let’s Play Together. Early booking is encouraged for the workshop so you can sent some music to look at before the event.

Everyone is encouraged to bring a picnic and teddy bear or favourite soft toy. There will be a ‘crown’ competition for the best crowns on a soft toy or/and its owner. Judging will be towards the end of the picnic.

As well as our amazing Flutewise players having the opportunity to perform during the picnic, there will be other groups performing including a choir and an early music ensemble.

After the picnic and performances you will be free to enjoy all the fun of the fair!

The cost to attend the workshop is £20 and must be booked in advance. If this is a problem please contact Liz Goodwin.
