Sunday 4 November 2018

You are invited to join us at the next Hampshire Flute Day. This is a wonderful opportunity to play your flute with friends and to get top tips from professional Irish flautist, Philippe Barnes, through traditional Irish flute music and learning Irish flute techniques. Fun warm ups and flute choir sessions will be led by Carrie Hensel.

There will also be the opportunity to play alongside the Philippe Barnes Band with the Hampshire Flute Day Flute Choir.

Participants will perform in the 5pm concert, which will also feature a recital by the Philippe Barnes Band, a performance by the Hampshire Flute Choir and will end with a Ceilidh for all friends and family to join in the dancing.

The concert will begin at 5pm. Concert tickets are £10 for adults, £5 for children. Everyone is welcome, and those who have attended during the day can stay to the evening for free!

A trade stand from Just Flutes will be there on the day. Please contact them in advance if you would like to try out any particular instruments and likewise if you are wanting to purchase any specific music and/or accessories on 020 8662 8400. Their website is www.justflutes.com

Local flute repairer, Nigel Salmon of 'Broken Wind', will be on hand throughout the day to make small repairs to your flute and answer questions about care and maintenance of your flute, all free-of-charge. His website is www.brokenwind.co.uk

Tickets and further details are available from the website www.fluteday.co.uk. Tickets must be booked in advance. The closing date for this is 21st October 2018. If you have any queries, please email fluteday@hotmail.com or call 07968 166481.
