What happens on events and courses

All parents want the very best for their child and every adult involved with Flutewise thinks the same. We want every course member to have a stimulating and secure experience and to leave us wanting to come back again and again. 

Our venues are carefully chosen to be safe, attractive and inspirational.

All adults involved in teaching, performing and pastoral care are all carefully vetted and trained. We have a robust child protection policy which is reviewed before each course. In our policy we must have one member of staff for every six children - this never happens, it is usually one member of staff for every two children! This means the children really do get an incredible level of teaching and care.

The work on each course is carefully planned with the individual in mind and, as well as having enormous fun, we aim to improve playing skills and build confidence. During each course we cover a wide range of playing, music making and performance as well as social activities.

Parents can be rest assured that their young musician will have a rewarding time in a safe, friendly and stimulating environment.

On residential courses we only allow young people aged 8 to 18 to attend. Teachers are welcome to apply to come if they have at least 3 of their own students attending (subject to checks and availability of space).

Day events may be open to flute players of all ages. Please check the specific event.
