The Really Flutewise Weekend in Jersey

Come and join Flutewise for a weekend of flute playing at the Jersey Academy of Music which is based in Chateau Vermont, St Saviour, Jersey. Mike Mower will be joined by Cathy Hare and Liz Goodwin for an exciting weekend which will have activities to appeal to all flute players whatever their age or standard.

We will start at 10.00 am on Saturday morning, 3 February, with a warm up and then we will go onto explore ways to improve flute playing in different level groups. As well as being able to discover new ways of practising standard technique there will be the chance to also find out how extended techniques like harmonics, beatboxing and singing and playing can really improve flute playing. Ensemble playing will be a big part of the weekend in both large and small groups. You are guaranteed to learn so much about your flute playing, enjoy good company and have great fun at this event in a wonderful venue.

On Saturday evening Mike Mower will be joined by Chris George (pianist and director of Jersey Academy of Music) and Cathy Hare for a concert.

There will also be the opportunity for everyone to perform in an ensemble for the end of  event presentation at 3.00 pm on Sunday where family and friends are welcome to join us.

The cost of the weekend is £70 and bookings need to be made direct with Jersey Academy of Music. More details soon.

If you live on the mainland and would like to come we can provide you with a list of suitable places to stay or we can investigate the possibility of staying with host families. Please get in touch with Liz on 01273 702367 as soon as possible if you are interested.
